Experience: Rhonda Slota, MA, is a Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and a Certified Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist. She is a retired Principal at Napa Valley Adult Education, a co-founder of Vallejo Yoga Studio where she currently teaches. She has practiced Yoga for over 40 years and has overcome the effects of several serious illnesses and continues to manage her health through the practice of Yoga, Meditation and Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle principles.
Education: Rhonda completed her BA in Liberal Arts Studies at Indiana University and her MA at San Francisco State University in English/Creative Writing. She has a California Teaching Credential and an Administrative Services Credential from Sonoma State University. She was a teacher and administrator (1986-2016).
Rhonda earned her "Ayurvedic Diet & Lifestyle Counselor Diploma" in 2009 and her "Ayurvedic Practitioner Certification With Honors" in 2010 at Mount Madonna Institute College of Ayurveda where she studied with world renowned Ayurvedic masters including Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. R. H. Singh, Dr. Sarita Shrestha, Dr. Vivek Shambhag, Dr. John Doillard and Dr. Shekhar Annambhotla. She is certified to teach Yoga and has studied with numerous Yoga master teachers in the styles of Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kripalu, Anusara and Restorative. Rhonda has also completed Reiki Master Training in the Usui and Kali-Ki traditions.
Yoga: Rhonda's goal is to create a nurturing, positive environment, encouraging individuals to reach for and develop their full potential, and thrive! She is dedicated to encouraging Yoga students to learn correct breathing techniques and postures as well as to develop a deep sense of the practice as a pathway to emotional, psychological and spiritual growth.
Ayurveda: Rhonda helps individuals in a gentle compassionate way, to recognize their own unique constitution and current imbalances. She provides the tools, guidance and support for developing and maintaining a plan that supports their own path to healing, optimal health and well-being.
Through consistently practicing Yoga and Meditation, and following the principles of Ayurveda in our daily lives, we can achieve greater personal awareness, reduce stress, maintain optimum weight and enjoy the benefits of a healthy, balanced life.
